Privacy policy

ReGen tracks quitting nicotine, alcohol, cannabis, caffeine and sugar. This page explains, in plain words, what we store, why, where it is kept and how to have it deleted. It covers this website and the ReGen app.

Who we are

ReGen is a small independent project run by Nick, who is the data controller for the information described here. For anything about your data, email privacy@humanregen.app.

The waitlist

If you join the waitlist we store two things: your email address, and the date and time you signed up. If you sign up again with the same address, we only update that time.

We use your email for one purpose: to invite you when there is a place for you in ReGen. We do not send newsletters, we do not share or sell your email, and we do not add it to any other list. Our legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

We keep your email until we have invited you, or until you ask us to remove it, whichever comes first. If ReGen never opens more widely, we delete the list.

This website

This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics or advertising. Fonts and images are served from our own site. Our host, Firebase Hosting by Google, processes your IP address and basic browser details to deliver pages and keep them secure.

The app

The app is in a private beta, open only to people we have invited. When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and a Google account ID.

Inside the app you record what you choose to: the habits you are quitting, quit dates, what you used to spend, slips, cravings and any notes. Some of this is information about your health. We use it only to show you your own progress. Because it is health information, we process it only with your explicit consent. The app asks for it before you enter anything, and records when you gave it. You can withdraw it by deleting your data.

Only you can see your app data. No other user can see it. As the person running ReGen, Nick can technically access the database, and does so only to fix a problem or when you ask.

Where your data is stored

App data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore in the European Union, in the eur3 multi region (Belgium and the Netherlands). Waitlist emails are stored in Firebase Realtime Database in the European Union, in Belgium (europe-west1). Google provides these services as our processor under its data processing terms. Sign in is handled by Google (Firebase Authentication), which may process your account details outside the EU under Google's standard contractual clauses.

How to have your data deleted

Email privacy@humanregen.app from the address you want removed, and we will delete it within one month. If you use the app, you can also delete everything yourself at any time: open your profile and choose Delete all my data. Email us as well if you want your sign in account removed.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, object to how we use it, or receive a copy to take elsewhere. You can withdraw consent at any time. To do any of these, email privacy@humanregen.app. You also have the right to complain to the data protection authority in the EU country where you live or work.

Changes

If we change how we use your data, we will update this page and the date at the top. If a change affects how we use the data you have already given us, we will ask you first.
